Testing phases for the projects implemented in SCADA systems and the requirements to the testing software are discussed. The paper shows that any SCADA system employs project diagnosis and testing utilities, but their functionality sometimes does not meet developers` desires and/or demands. A universal software utility intended for testing the projects implemented by means of SIMATIC WinCC SCADA is described.

The problem of bad sensor signal (such as step, slow drift, and freeze) detection in the control system is discussed. The paper shows that fuzzy logic techniques enable effective synthesis of detection algorithms and notes that even the application of inexact signal model allows to improve parametric failure detection accuracy.
