Tsuprikov A.A.  Automated optimal control for oil well drilling speed

Mathematical drilling models are analyzed in the context of optimal on-line optimal control. A new drilling speed model based on third-degree polynomial with explicitly expressed extremum is offered. An adaptive optimization procedure is developed for automatic calculation of optimal drilling parameters subject to three mathematical models simultaneously. The models provide the estimates of drilling speed as functions of axial drill bit load with automatic rock recognition in the borehole and appropriate adaptation. The procedure can be used for on-line optimal control of oil well drilling with an automatic drilling machine subject to maximum mechanical speed, overall drilling speed, or minimum 1 m penetration cost criteria.

Berezkin A.A., Chensky A.A., Kirichek R.V.  Quantization and dequantization algorithms for coded frames of FPV video stream in UAV control

In FPV control of UAV, video frames are streamed to a remote pilot station through an air-ground communication channel. Air-ground communication channels use mobile and hybrid orbital-ground communication networks. Their performance can be improved by reducing the required bandwidth for each FPV-controlled UAV. High compression ratio of video stream frames should be ensured, that may be attained by means of variational autoencoders. Their operation principle is based on frame encoding to latent space, quantization, and lossless compression. The paper offers new quantization algorithms and investigates the influence of various quantization algorithms on the compression ratio of the latent space of Stable Diffusion VQ-f16 variational autoencoder with further lossless compression by means of LZMA algorithm. The proposed quantization algorithms are intended for the application within a neural network codec. A quantization algorithm is selected, which demonstrates the best performance in the neural codec.

Martynov S.V., Osovsky A.V., Kutuzov D.V., Stukach O.V.  Assessing the quality of radio coverage of NB-IoT network in a housing estate for smart device control

The paper offers an estimate of radio coverage quality of Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network by the example of Mobile TeleSystems subsidiary operating in Astrakhan, Russia. The quality was assessed with respect to the strength of Received Signal Code Power (RSCP). The results of the measurements by NB-IоT TESTER RB-NBT1 are presented. The measurements were taken at the locations of intelligent utility meter installation from the 2nd through the 18th floor of the new Progress apartment complex. This makes it possible to simulate the scenario of applying smart NB-IоT meters. The equations for logarithmic approximation, cubic polynomial approximation, and piecewise linear approximation of RSCP readings as functions of the number of floors in the building. This enables the assessment of maintenance quality and control performance. RSCP approximation error does not exceed 10 dBm that is sufficient for practical applications.

The subsystem was developed using artificial intelligence and natural language processing technologies. Basic modules are discussed including text processing, product parameter synthesis, geometric model generation, visualization and editing, as well as the feedback module. Operation algorithms of each module and their interaction are described. The system developed reduces 3D model generation time and improves their accuracy in CAD systems.

The development of an information model of a process control system for large industrial plants is discussed. Evident drawbacks of using individual solutions based on object-oriented models are demonstrated. As a possible alternative solution, the paper offers a semantic data model, which combines the object-oriented approach for describing data point (tag) elements in the information component of process control project’s database with attributive representation of these points ensuring easy processing and the visibility in further model usage.

A sensing device with open-type electrode system without gas-permeable diffusion membrane is developed. It operates in forced sample supply mode with gas modulation. With the help of gas analyzer’s preumatic circuit, the sample for analyzing would be fed to the sensing device with the specified frequency followed by another sample, which does not contain the component to be detected. The area enclosed by the background line and the signal change curve in each cycle is proportional to measured concentration. The device enables the sensing of rocket fuel component content in the range of 100…101 of maximum admissible concentrations in the working area air. As part of a gas analyzer, it can be used for detecting air leakages of rocket fuel components at the objects of ground-based space infrastructure as well as for continuous automatic monitoring of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine vapor content in the working area air.
