Dozortsev V.M., Chernetskaya E.D., Oboznov A.A., Bessonova Yu.V., Bahtadze N.N.  New approach to the training of operators of high-hazard processes: conceptual models, pretraining examples, digital implementation

The paper analyzes the bottlenecks of present-day computerized training, which limit the acquisition by operators of knowledge and skills necessary for safe and effective process control. It proposes an approach to overcoming the constraints based on additional personnel pretraining. The pretraining is aimed at creating the necessary components of operator’s conceptual process model, which are responsible for quick and reliable detection of deviations, root cause analysis, and planning procedures for compensating possible negative consequences. The approach is based on a model of operator skills development and is implemented using special software systems, which provide focused and personalized operator training. The paper discusses the information content of such systems and methods for assessing the achieved level of conceptual model formation. A pilot project design is proposed to demonstrate the advantages of operator pretraining and substantiate its deployment at high-hazard industrial facilities.
Keywords: computer-based training systems, accident training, operator pretraining, conceptual model, mental skills, digital associative identifiers, professional operator competencies.

Grigoriev M.S., Maslova K.A.  Organization of navigation and alarm generalization based on hierarchical representation of information on video frames

The paper outlines the main characteristics of video frames of automated workstations of operational personnel at the Leningrad A-Plant. It presents the hierarchy of video frames based on the functional-technological and information models of the power generating unit, with reference to the structural model of the operators' activities. The features of the organization of navigation and alarm generalization based on the hierarchical presentation of information to operators are discussed. Basic principles of alarm organization on video frames are formulated. The compliance of the proposed hierarchical model with the current regulatory and scientific-technical documentation on HMI display design is examined.
Keywords: video frame hierarchy, navigation, summary alarm, video frame types, HMI.

Balenkov A.A., Susarev S.V.  Automated system of remote detection of tank leakages

The operation of tanks and tank farms for oil and petroleum products is associated with a high risk of accidents, leaks, and fires with the ensuing environmental damage and financial losses. The paper presents a new approach to improving the industrial safety of tank farms through the creation of an integrated tank condition monitoring system. The solution is based on expanding the functionality of the existing process controls by implementing a specialized remote leak detection subsystem.
Keywords: tank farm, automated system, leak detection, condition monitoring.

Gashenko Yu.V., Susarev S.V.  Float sensor-based fiber-optic information-measuring system for determining the density of flammable liquids

Rapid and accurate density measurement of crude oil and petroleum products is a topical issue in the face of increasing demand for speed and reliability of inline process measurements. Float-type meters are acknowledged as simplest and most accurate among density monitoring tools. The paper describes the structure of a fiber-optic information-measuring system for continuously determining the density of flammable liquid media using a float-type measuring transducer. The system operation algorithm including calibration and density measurement modes is presented.
Keywords: float density sensor, float density meter, crude oil density, fiber-optic information-measuring system.

Kuzmin A.G.  Automated 3D scanning system for the human body

In present-day technological paradigm, 3D scanning methods are becoming a key tool for digital modeling and analysis. They provide high-precision reconstruction of objects and significantly improve the efficiency of design, production, and inspection processes. The relevance of using 3D scanning is increasing due to the expansion of digital engineering tasks and strengthening requirements for measurement accuracy. The paper describes the development of an automated system for 3D scanning of the human body and other complex-shaped objects. It potential application areas are light industry and digitization of cultural heritage. The features of the system architecture, automation methods and the results of its experimental testing are presented.
Keywords: 3D scanning, digital twin, automation, photogrammetry, anthropometry, human body.

Pushkov R.L., Martinova L.I., Evstafieva S.V., Salamatin E.V.  Developing a user interface for a control system of a nanoplasmonic structure printer

The paper discusses the development of a cross-platform user interface for a control system of a nanoplasmonic structure printer based on AxiOMA CNC platform. Various (including third-party) equipment types included in the printer and their control features are allowed for, key parameters of control objects are identified. Software interface elements have been developed taking into account the controlled and monitored parameters of sintering and optimization lasers, gas flow controllers, and a vacuum pump. Connections to the CNC core have been implemented via permanent variables.
Keywords: control system, user interface, optimization and sintering lasers, gas flow controller, nanoplasmonic structure printer.

Kvas E.S., Kuzmenko V.P., Soleny S.V.  Reducing noise from an automated bottling line by stepless adjustment of conveyor speed in the buffer zone

The paper proposes a stepless control algorithm aimed at noise reduction at noise reduction on automated bottling lines. Instead of traditional threshold control with abrupt stops and starts, the algorithm smoothly adjusts the speed of conveyors in the buffer zone depending on their filling. This reduces glass container collisions, a major source of noise. Simulation modeling for a line with a capacity of 90,000 bottles per hour showed a reduction in average noise levels of 1.0 … 2.6 dB(A). Full-scale tests at an operating plant demonstrated an even greater result: at critical points, noise decreased by 6 ... 8 dB(A), and the overall background noise by 2...3 dB(A) at unchanged line productivity (90,000±1.5%). The algorithm is implemented on standard PLCs without hardware modifications, making it easy to implement.
Keywords: quality control, liquid filling line, noise level control, production organization, buffer control model.

Smirnov E.V.  Innovative design of Coriolis flowmeter’s flow splitter and its influence on measurement range and accuracy

Coriolis mass flowmeters often demonstrate narrower operating range as against the specified one, especially for upper flow values. To eliminate these limitations, an innovative design of modular knife flow splitters is proposed. Their straight flow channels are manufactured using mechanical processing methods.
Keywords: Coriolis mass flowmeter, operating range, flow splitting element, modular knife flow splitters.
