A mechatronic complex for small-capacity rolling of nichrome and other special-property alloys is presented. The complex comprises TRIO-500 roughing stand and DUO-300 multistand rolling mill. The paper outlines the structure of the rolling automation system, its key components, and hard/software solutions ensuring higher rolling benefits.

Automation in Power Industry

The paper provides a case study of a smart instrumentation diagnosis system implemented at a power plant of Euro-Asian Power Corporation in Aksu (Kazakhstan) with the help of Emerson AMS Device Manager software.

Zakharchenko V.E., Sidorov A.A.  On the digitalization of hydroelectric power plants

The concept of a digital twin of an enterprise is introduced and discussed. With examples of hydroelectric power plants, the components of power plant’s digital twin comprising its whole lifecycle are examined. The paper shows that the integrated digital approach results in significant savings from the cost of plant infrastructure ownership.

Tverskoy Yu.S., Muraviov I.K.  Improving fuel and air feeding systems of steam-gas plants under changing operation and ambient conditions

Key factors affecting the operation efficiency of a power generating unit with a steam-gas plant were investigated on a mathematical model. Based on the study results, an automatic regulatory control system was developed for fuel feeding to combustion chamber and air supply to gas-turbine unit’s compressor. The results of control system investigation under changing operation and ambient conditions are presented, its efficiency is estimated under ambient air temperature variations.

Kochenghin A.E., Pavlyuk G.P., Shikhin V.A.  Statistical treatment of power consumption profile for process information retrieval

A new method for detecting large deviations in power consumption monitoring is offered. The method aims at improving the detection confidence of technological events. It allows to detect critical events and identify them in certain cases. By introducing the list of critical events, a table of their distinctive features and their characteristic functions was developed. For critical event identification, a feature-event mask is developed, which allows to reveal active features and distinguish the events with similar features. Numerical experiments with power consumption statistics made it possible to check the possible use of Wilcoxon signed-rank test in the critical event detection algorithm.

Kharisova N.N., Miroshnikov V.O.  Automation of small-scale power generation plants on the basis of reciprocating gas generators

The reasons of rapid evolution of world small-scale power generation are listed. Examples of implemented small-scale power plants and their energy characteristics in Russia and abroad are cited. PDCS101 power supply control system based on hot gas piston engines is described. The system was implemented by Advantec Engineering LLC for Moskovsky agricultural holding.

Denisova L.A., Alekseitsev D.M.  Developing a supervisory control system based on fuzzy logical inference

The paper discusses the development of a supervisory control system enabling automatic stabilization of output parameters of multi-pass heater at a crude distillation unit. The system develops setpoints for base-level flow controllers to optimize the process. System structure is offered, its implementation on the basis of smart controllers with fuzzy logic functionality is described, results of MATLAB simulation are included.

Aushev A.V., Sinavchian S.N., Donchan D.M.  CAE systems for pipeline monitoring

Central heating and hot-water supply networks are based on heat-insulated metal pipes enabling a sealed liquid transfer loop. Its leakage inspection is relevant for both energy conservation and safety provisions. The paper describes the architecture, functionality and operation algorithm of a cloud-based CAE system for remote on-line monitoring of pipelines in foamed polyurethane insulation.

Lobanov A.V., Kosilov A.A.  Cat 5 fire resistant balanced high-frequency cables

SPECLAN is a domestic series of Cat 5 fire resistant balanced high-frequency cables for structured cabling systems (SCS). Their fire resistance level is sufficient for a wide range of SCS-based fire alarm and access control, and video surveillance applications. Commercial manufacture is launched at the Moscow-based Spetskabel Scientific and Production Enterprise.

An automated unit enabling inspection and measuring of engaging and separating forces of electric connectors is offered. The structure of its mechanical and electrical parts is described. The unit application will improve the speed and accuracy of connector inspection.

Dobrolyubova D.A.  Portable pupilometer: and instrument for rapid diagnostics of drug intoxication in pre-shift inspection practice

State of the art in pupilometry for rapid diagnostics of individual’s functional state is discussed. A portable pupilometer prototype for pre-shift inspection is developed, the possibility of its application as a screening instrument for drug intoxication detection is proved.
