Akulov P.A., Petreshin D.I., Syrykh A.D.  Development of an automated laboratory facility for electric connector durability testing

An automated facility for electric connector durability testing is offered. Its application enables data acquisition, analysis and recording on the dynamics of connectors coupling and decoupling forces during the testing operation with specified velocities.

Keywords: connectors, testing procedures, durability, coupling force, decoupling force.

Lomakina L.S., Silianov N.V.  Diagnostic assurance of multifunctional on-board computing system

The relevance of increasing the resolution of structural fault location (short circuits, disconnection faults, circuits entanglement, etc.) during the development of on-board computing systems is shown. To overcome the challenge, the special diagnostic assurance should be developed on the basis of a netlist using boundary scan technology. System's fault-tolerance under the influence of adverse factors is an important feature. This can be attained owing to redundancy, self-diagnosis and reconfiguring tools. Diagnostic software is developed enabling reconfiguration tables based on algebraic structures.

Keywords: diagnostic assurance, on-board computing systems, connections list, boundary scan, fault-tolerance, reconfiguring.

Steshakov E.G., Molokovich I.N., Ivanov S.V.  Fiber-optic measuring of radial clearance in turbomachinery

A multi-processor measuring system for radial clearance of turbine compressors is described. The system uses fiber-optic pairs and is based on the industrial STM32F4 microcontroller. The paper describes the network structure for data exchange between measuring channels. The results of the system's testing on the test benches of P.I. Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Motor Development are included.

Keywords: radial clearance, turbomachinery, fiber-optic pair, time synchronization.

Komarov V.A., Denisova L.A.  Model-based investigation of external factors influence on trunk pipeline diagnosis process

The paper presents a combined analytical and simulation technique for assessing the influence external factors on vibroacoustic flaw detection in pipelines. A mathematical model with automatic adjustment of parameters in autocorrelation functions of random disturbances. The model allows for the effect of natural and man-made noises on the detection process. Initial data for the simulation were received from a natural experiment on a real-life pipeline. A software suite was developed and used for model-based investigation of an identity tester thus enabling the assessment of noise effect on flaw detection accuracy.

A design of a device for parts assembling is proposed. The device automates the assembly of axisymmetric joints with clearance. A system of parallel kinematic chains forming a ruled surface of a single cavity hyperboloid is a key element of the structure. The device ensures reduced mismatch in the location of the assembled parts and their pairing due to the imposition of moving geometric constraints. The relationships between the geometric parameters of assembled parts and the assembly device are obtained. The efficiency of the device has been verified experimentally.

The paper analyzes modern approaches to automatic system performance and efficiency assessment. Control system synthesis results in a new physical structure, which differs from the original control object in properties and characteristics. Control processes change plant's static and dynamic behavior, power consumption and loads, and thus affect the efficiency of material and energy utilization. The latter presumes the development of an information resource aimed at attaining technically and economically justified system performance with efficient energy and material consumption under natural constraints. Examples of novel engineering solutions ensuring improved energy efficiency in mechatronic systems are cited.

Keywords: system, automation, regulatory control, feedback, performance, effectiveness, energy, efficiency.
