Ethernet and the determinism
When Ethernet is compared with other universally recognized deterministic industrial field buses, much is disputed about its determinism. An opinion exists that Ethernet-based industrial systems are nondeterministic as against other specialized buses. The paper shows that Ethernet is really deterministic under certain conditions.

The paper offers a design technique for a system of catalyst circulation velocity monitoring self-tuning calibration at process units with circulating fine-dyspersated catalyst. It shows that reliable self-adjustment can be ensured if a self-learning data sample describing the dynamics of catalyst distribution between reactor and regenerator is collected continuously.
