Cherepashkov A.A., Voronin V.N.  Process simulator in the virtual tutorial plant environment

The efficiency of computer-aided design systems is substantially determined by the qualification of CAD specialists. Therefore, their training is a necessary stage in automated system implementation projects. Specialized PLM solutions are developed for training complex CAD personnel in the integrated information environment (IIE) of present-day industrial enterprises. These solutions are implemented on the basis of training centers in the form of training and research virtual enterprises (TRVE). The latter are aimed at intensive task-oriented training and should simulate the IIE of a real-life plant, but they feature significant differences from industrial enterprises in the tools involved, primarily the informational and methodological content. Thus, the TRVE can successfully employ engineering simulators for target-oriented training the skills of of computer-aided design at key phases of design activities in the IIE. The paper discusses a digital procedure of process engineer training at the stage of engineering product workability testing.

ESG criteria of sustainable development based on environmental management, social partnership and governance standards are discussed. The level of significance of allowing for the balance of these criteria is shown that makes it possible for the companies to minimize the negative consequences of affecting the ecosystem and results in the integrated and sustainable business development. The key purpose of the motivation for allowing for the balance of ESG criteria is the development of sustainable and responsible business practices.

Larionov R.V., Sennikov A.V., Khryashchev V.V.  Forest canopy changes modeling on the basis of remote surface sensing data

The paper presents an algorithm for detecting forest canopy changes during a certain period of time based on satellite images. Forest coupes are considered as canopy changes as the most typical ones for the Russian middle band. The solution proposed is based on the usage of the paired images comprising two satellite pictures of the same territory at different time points. The images are processed by neural network models for obtaining a binary segmentation mask relevant to the previous coupes. A set of 109 paired images was chosen for the experiment. Three neural network models with ResNet-34+U-Net, SegFormer_b5, and SegNeXt_l architectures were applied. For their validation, Sørensen coefficient, F-score, precision, and recall were used. The SegNeXt_l network has demonstrated the best Sørensen coefficient and recall values (0.84 and 0.8 respectively), while the ResNet-34+U-Net has showed the best accuracy and F-score (0.71 and 0.74 respectively).
