Kireev A.N.  Tuning temporal sensitivity adjustment function with the help of ADD diagrams in ultrasonic inspection of rolling stock's rolled wheel centers

The paper offers a method for standardless tuning of ultrasonic flaw detector's temporal sensitivity adjustment function with respect to specific amplitude/distance/diameter diagrams. The method aims at ultrasonic inspection of wheel rims and bosses of rolled wheel centers for inadmissible internal axial cracks. It allows to equalize the amplitudes of echo signals from equal-size reflectors in the wheel center over the whole of the inspection range subject to the changes the changes of ultrasound attenuation factor change across the rim's or boss's section. NDTRT-05.01 software suite was developed to automatize the tuning process.

Bolobonov S.I.  A3124 Test bench for hydraulic oscillation dampers in locomotives

A3124 is a novel test bench for hydraulic oscillation dampers in locomotives. It was developed by the Locomotive Design Office of the Russian National Railway Company (OAO RZD) and is being successfully operated at service locomotive servicing depots. The test bench is intended for standard and acceptance tests, incoming inspection, post-maintenance or state monitoring, as well as research activities for improving dumper design. Test bench development opportunities and features are outlined.

Improving noncontact methods of vibration amplitude measurement for small objects (several millimeters or less in size) at rather high frequencies is a topical problem because vibration monitoring is required in various fields of science and industry. The paper discusses video recording of vibration displacements using stroboscopic effect and digital image processing. An algorithm is developed and implemented in the appropriate software. The technique proposed does not depend on video equipment's characteristics. Experimental test was undertaking. The analysis of photos enables the estimation of object's displacement.

Yakovis L.M., Sporyagin K.V.  Automated calculation of standard regulatory controllers for multidimensional control objects

The paper examines the calculation of standard controllers for the processes with multiple manipulated and controlled variables. A technique for automated PI and PID controller tuning is offered within the centralized control structure for dynamic plants with arbitrary dimension, cross-connections, and various time lags in control channels.
