Maslyanko V.Ya., Lapteva M.I., Chizhov M.N., Finazhin D.N.  Application of earth remote sensing data received from GeoScan-101 aerial mapping kit in AutoCAD Civil 3D: a case study of an opencast coal mines of Siberian Coal Energy Company

The paper describes the application experience of earth remote sensing technologies based on GeoScan-101 aerial mapping kit for spatially distributed data acquisition and building 3D models of opencast coal mine surface in AutoCAD Civil 3D environment. It discusses the technology of digital terrain model (DTM) development based on aerial photography data and outlines possible DTM application in mine survey, monitoring, planning, on-line design and process control in strip mining. A methodology of small-size DTM development using UAV photography data and PhotoScan-Pro software at opencast coal mines of Siberian Coal Energy Company with specified precision characteristics is described; the DTM can be used in mine survey tasks.

Shishighin D.S.  AutoCAD application for calculating lightning protection and grounding of power engineering objects

The paper presents ZUM software for calculating lightning protection and grounding of electric substation equipment. The software comprises a computational core and an AutoCAD interface based on COM technology. Computation results are visualized with 3D graphics; dynamic processes are animated. An original method of high-speed graph construction in dxf codes is developed. The ways to reduce code complexity and increase its execution speed are discussed. An example of lightning protection calculation for an electric substation is included.
