The paper discusses the application of Electrica CVK CAD system for the design of control and alarm systems of 0.4 kW auxiliary machinery at Pregolsky Heat Power Plant (Kaliningrad Region, Russia). The information content transmitted during the design process between the departments as well as the amount of the documentation are assessed.

The current phase of IT evolution features the transition to electronic workflow in the design of complex industrial plants. Today, the design and simulation are hardly imaginable without state-of-the-art 3D information technologies. The paper discusses the case of 3D model development for a new isomerization unit with the help of different CAD systems. It shows that the application of virtual and augmented reality tools will be the next step in the evolution of 3D design.

Melekhin V.B., Khachumov V.M.  Intelligent part routing CAD system

A model representing declarative knowledge of a computer-aided part routing design system is developed as semantic network frame enabling formal descriptions of works and finished parts the detection of differences between them. A procedural knowledge representation model including two types of frame structures is offered. These structures allow to develop production stepы needed to eliminate the identified differences. Solution derivation procedures are synthesized, which ensure automatic determination of surfacing order and the development of part routing. A case study is included that confirms the effectiveness of procedures proposed.

A load positioning device structure is developed. Its mathematical model is derived for the investigation of load handling along the trajectories set by operator’s muscular force.
