The paper discusses the modernization experience of proof cabinet's loading and unloading subsystem, which is a component of molded bread baking system and overviews key development phases, hard- and software tools. A testing bed based on Siemens Simatic S7-226, Weintek MT 6070iH and Siemens LOGO is described. The bed enables testing and debugging of control software intended for operation= in dynamic environment; its application minimizes the precommissioning efforts.

Round Table: the causes of ineffective design and operation of automation systems

Automation tools and systems has been regularly deployed at Russian plants. Engineering companies report about successful deployment of state-of-the-art controls, custom automation system development, production line modernization, etc. Looks like most of Russian industrial enterprises employ advanced automation tools; however, few of them can pride themselves upon effective application of such tools. The participants of the virtual Round Table organized by Automation in Industry discusses the causes of ineffective design, engineering and operation of automation systems as well as the ways to overcome these challenges.

On the importance of security systems

R.V.S. Company participates in the project aimed at providing integrated security systems to 10 major railcar-repair plants of Russian Railways JSC. The project started in 2010 will result within 3 years in furnishing the premises of Zheldormash JSC works with modern security systems. The work scope comprises the whole set of services from preliminary design through system commissioning as well as the aftermarket services.
