Integral windup occurs in linear PID or PI controller when the control signal goes beyond the limits of the linearity range. Various algorithms were developed to eliminate the negative effect of integral windup on PID/PI controllers with constant settings. The paper offers an adaptive control algorithm for a PID/PI controller effective under integral windup conditions.

Zolotarev S.V.  21 CFR Part 11 and the application of electronic signatures and records in PcVue SCADA

The support of 21 CFR Part 11 in PcVue SCADA from ARC Informatique is discussed. 21 CFR Part 11 regulates the application of electronic signatures and electronic recording. Its objective is to ensure the recording of all operation conditions affecting the safety, efficiency, and product quality together with the details related with operator identity confirmation and the explanation of the actions taken. ARC Informatique became one of the world`s first SCADA vendors supporting this standard that resulted in PcVue propagation to new application areas.
