Key functionalities, technical and organizational development features of the integrated multi-level supervisory control and information system for Tattransgas JSC are discussed.

Rotach V.Ya. Interval iterative adaptation algorithms

The paper considers the new iterative adaptation algorithm where plant`s complex frequency response is estimated on each step as long as it is needed for reliable frequency interval controller tuning.

Tyurin M.V. Some ways to improve the durability of telecommunication systems and computer networks

The problems of telecommunication systems and computer networks durability improvement are considered on the basis of information risk management, evaluation and categorization. The paper discusses the legislative background of cyber-security, standardization and quality management issues critical for the problems under consideration.

Misyul` A.S. Hard-/software system for Sayano-Shushenskaya and Mainskaya HEPS

In March 2007, the specialists of Rakurs Scientific and Production Company performed successful factory acceptance tests of hard-/software systems for electrohydraulic controller and oil pressure unit of the hydroelectric generator of Mainskaya HEPS. The systems were developed according to the large-scale modernization program for Sayano-Shushenskaya and Mainskaya HEPS and are based on OMRON`s PLC. The paper discusses the functionalities of the both systems.

Komantsev A.V. Industrial communication systems: trends and prospect

The paper identifies the trends of industrial communication equipment market: using the equipment of industrial standards in non-industrial automation and the switch from fieldbuses to open standards such as Ethernet, RS-232/422/485, Wi-Fi. It shows how these innovative market changes are exemplified in MOXA`s equipment.

Ralston J. Application of wireless communication in equipment condition monitoring systems

Mechanical failures in electromechanical equipment in most cases cause production process disruption. The developments in the field of vibration monitoring and data analysis entailed the advent of equipment condition monitoring systems which can detect potential problems correctly and on timely basis thus decreasing equipment downtime and improving the benefits. Such systems are installed on the monitored equipment and are usually connected with a host computer that performs data analysis and generates the alarm signals. While the equipment piece can be located at the place were the network infrastructure is not available, the wireless connection makes good alternative, is relatively low cost, simple in installation, and highly reliable.

Lysenko O.N. DT60 and DL60 Series distance sensors

Key performance data, featured properties and application areas of DS60/DT60/DL60 Series radar distance sensors from SICK AG are discussed.

The enhancement of Beckhoff CX Series modular computers range

Beckhoff`s CX Series computers are extensively applied worldwide since 2002 and provide a high-performance modular alternative to programmable peripheral controllers, PLC, and displacement controllers. In recent 5 years, the system grew up to a wide range comprising 6 processor types.

Simulation and modeling techniques in engineering tasks

Introduction

Dozortsev V.M. Modern operator training simulators: state of the art and development lines

Domestic and world operator training simulator (OTS) market is overviewed. Key OTS features such as functionalities, precision, and coverage are identified, and the state of the art and prospect are analyzed from this viewpoint.

Zakharchenko V.E. A hydraulic unit simulation model for process control algorithms testing

The paper suggests to use a plant simulation model for control algorithms testing. To validate the proposed methodology, a working model of a hydraulic unit was developed. The model`s parameters were estimated based on historical plant data from a SCADA system using a genetic algorithm. The model implementation enabled control algorithms modification and testing without affecting the control plant.

Ambartsumian A.A., Kazansky D.L. Event-based modeling

In process control algorithms design, it makes sense to develop a control plant model. A process model is typically the result of a plant survey. At the survey phase, process structure and features are determined, the control system`s boundary is identified, the automation scope is evaluated, operation algorithms are identified, and the human operator`s functions are categorized to informational and supervisory. Against this background, the paper discusses a toolkit that might be useful for a system analyst, friendly to an operation engineer, enabling the automation of the survey phase and making control plant`s behavior transparent to the model`s customer.

Yermolenko E.Yu., Veselov O.V. Electromechanical systems performance evaluation by hierarchical decomposition techniques using parallel diagnosis models in state space

The provision of effective operation of electromechanical systems is related with the estimation their operability and specified operational performance with the help of parallel models in space state. The existing techniques and tools for electromechanical drives diagnosis are analyzed, diagnostic electric drive models in state space are developed, experimental investigation and diagnosis of EPU1-2P electric drive are undertaken.

Fischenkov A.N. Modeling and analysis of a queuing system of a vulcanizing plant

The conditions are identified which the applications should meet for using queuing theory as an investigation tool. A model of vulcanizing process in tire production is offered in terms of a queuing system. The model is calibrated using plant data from Yaroslavl Tire Factory.

Khmelnitsky A.K. Paper formation quality prediction using neuron networks

A method for paper formation quality prediction based on the application of a generalized regression neuron network is described.

Kolyazov K.A., Vorobiova A.V., Shiyanova N.I. Control object`s model synthesis using fuzzy logic

The paper discusses the problem of synthesizing a model of milk and dairy products evaporation process using fuzzy logic techniques. The method proposed allows to obtain valid models of complex processes using rather simple mathematical technique.

Yefimova E.A. A simulation model of urban transport network throughput

The paper analyzes the expert systems used for evaluating the urban transport network throughput and transport diagrams. A simulation model of urban transport network throughput is described; its application enables the planning and reconstruction of motor roads.
