A mathematical formulation of a pattern recognition technique based on Hamming proximity measure and matrix representation of the measures of informative features concordance to reference images is discussed. A device structure based on associative organization of reference memory is presented. Such structure enables parallel reference data sampling resulting in recognition efficiency improvement.

The problems of hard-/software system development for investigating the operation modes of a pilot fractionator are discusssed. The system development objective is the representation of the dynamics of target product components concentrations per column temperature profile. This is further used for dynamic correction of the mathematical model with subsequent prediction of target product concentrations. The availability of a multi-channel controller linked with a PC enables simultaneous displaying of current temperature profile and prediction of fractionated products compositions.

In 2000, Siemens presented in Europe a unique steam radiator valve able to solve eternal hydraulic problems of heating systems. The so-called MiniCombiValve consists of a conventional steam radiator valve and an embedded pressure differential controller. Under dynamic operation conditions, the valve compensates for the variable pressure in hydraulic network thus maintaining the stable volumetric flow through the heating device. This applied, no linear balancing valves or hydraulic balancing are needed.

Gribko V.M. Maintenance costs accounting and analysis using SAP and Primavera

In 2003, Rosenergoatom launched stepwise implementation of Primavera-based maintenance projects management system for shutdown power units. The implementation of a corporate information system enabled the development of consolidated maintenance schedules per A-plant’s power units. In particular, at the Balakovo A-plant, detailed work planning (up to 15,000 items per 1 power unit maintenance) and systematic maintenance costs analysis were implemented with the objective to reduce the costs. Currently, the corporation is switching to SAP R/3-based information system, in particular at Balakovo A-plant. The development of integrated solutions using Primavera API is planned. Today, to ensure users access to projects, maintenance schedules at Balakovo A-plant are located at the unified information portal implemented using SAP tools. The HTML pages are generated using standard Primavera tools. The comprehensiveness of the project data presented at the portal and the user-friendly interface ensure topical data organization for all stakeholders.
