Leus A.V., Radostev N.Yu.  An optoelectronic system-based virtual reality complex for data processing centers' staff training

Due to increasing information content and toughening requirements to its storage and processing more companies use state-of-the-art data processing centers and cloud technologies. The paper examines the opportunity of using virtual reality technologies for data center personnel training. Such training improves personnel's efficiency, awareness and availability to contingencies; it reduces accident rate and equipment damage.

Keywords: virtual reality, interactive content, the system of immersion into virtual reality, data processing center.

Veselic М. Real-time Ethernet in mobile automation

Due to ever-increasing requirements to the throughput of communication channels of vehicles the conventional CAN bus has reached its bandwidth limit. POWERLINK open protocol is offered as an alternative ensuring the desirable response time and meeting data communication security conditions.

Keywords: mobile automation, throughput, link protocol, security, decentralized control.

Khairetdinov R.N.  Process protection: where and how the industry evolves

The status quo of process control cybersecurity is analyzed from state regulation, incident rate and risk assessment viewpoints. The steps made towards the improvement of industrial systems' security are discussed as well as the existing constraint in this field.

Keywords: cybersecurity, process controls, incident, risk, information security.

Yermolov A.V.  Investigating the opportunities of unauthorized control of industrial switches for process interference

Industrial switch is a critical element of industrial network structure and argues for their reliable protection against malicious compromise. The paper undertakes a detailed analysis of two switches from major industrial network equipment vendors, demonstrates the opportunities of device's firmware update and fabrication and reveals the lack of protection mechanisms against binary planting vulnerability.
