Aristova N.I.  Industrial automation: on evolution and revolutions

Zaitseva E.A.  Cabinetless drive systems for food and packaging industries

Food and consumer market features large batches, short lifecycles, high competitiveness, frequent advent of new product models, types, and modifications. This challenges both consumer and machine industries which address their automation solution to such production facilities. State-of-the-art machinery for this segment should be modular, scalable, small-size, highly efficient, and easily integrable to legacy systems. The application of cabinetless servo drive systems is a reasonable answer to this challenge. The related electrical equipment ensures system's size minimization up to complete exclusion of electric equipment cabinet, decentralized control architecture and wide opportunities for equipment enhancement and reconfiguring.

Keywords: cabinetless drive systems, consumer boom, embedded solutions, production lines, decentralized drive system, servo motor, control cabinet.
