Introduction to this issue: Application from technical universities for industry

Kalashnikov A.A.  Information transfer with reference-based data diagnosis

A concept of reference-based diagnosis of digital and analog communication lines is offered. Its principles and implementation methods are described. Application of reference-based diagnosis in industrial measuring and computing devices improves the overall reliability of communication lines and, in particular, measuring channels, owing to higher information validity and the monitoring of their technical and metrological performance. Such advances contribute to the development of the domestic digital and measurement technologies and enable more extensive metrological service and maintenance of industrial sites.

Keywords: reference-based diagnostics, analog and digital information transfer, information validity improvement.

Livshits I.I.  Investigation of industrial system security assessments

Recent years have seen two extremes in the organization of industrial systems protection: the application of incompatible information security tools not affecting the basic IT infrastructure, and the implementation of various total isolation modes such as, e.g., Zero Trust architecture. Analytical reports from world experts increasingly inform about closing new critical vulnerability gaps, but the industrial systems security threat is still a challenge. An important negative factor is the existing practice of separate assessment of IT and information security. Against this background, the paper reviews the existing approaches to industrial systems security assessment. The author’s recommendations may improve the existing solutions and develop new ones for industrial systems security, in particular, to ensure the national digital sovereignty.

Keywords: information security, industrial system, risk management, protection measures, conformance evaluation.

Nasyrov I.N., Nasyrov I.I., Nasyrov R.I.  Algorithm for HDD multiparametric ranking by failure risk

Time variations of SMART parameters values that characterize the reliability of computer hard drives are discussed. The selected parameters are critical in the sense that if their values increase, the failure probability of information storage of HDD devices increases. The scientific objective of the study is to establish the priority of these parameters in failed hard drives with the purpose of developing an algorithm for evaluating the reliability of information storage devices from various vendors. The study analyzed HGST, Hitachi, Samsung, ST, Toshiba, and WDC drives used in Backblaze commercial data center. The priority of critical parameters was identified taking into account that the very existence of considered parameters values depends on the hard disk manufacturer. An algorithm is proposed for ranking information storage devices according to the degree of reliability using the priority parameters identified in the study.

Keywords: information, storage, hard disk drive, reliability, ranking, algorithm.

Pankov D.A., Denisova L.A.  Hard-/software system design: determining the scope of test runs for microprocessor devices

The paper discusses the scope of test runs for hard-/software devices of an information system. A test completion criterion is substantiated, key components of failures simulation program are determined for microprocessor device testing. A procedure for assessing the execution of the device’s software functions during the test run is proposed on the basis of simultaneous application of fuzzing techniques and fuzzy logic tools. The results of software faults localization during the simulation of device errors and faults are included, which confirm the effectiveness of the method proposed.

Keywords: hard-/software system, errors and failures, software testing, fuzzing.

Blem A.G., Bryutova E.Yu., Barysheva N.N.  Production scheduling optimization at grain processing enterprise

The paper presents a planning and scheduling algorithm which allows for the specificity of a grain processing plant. The models and algorithms proposed make it possible to decrease the number of equipment changeovers, stabilize stock balances of finished products at the normative level, and significantly reduce the probability of short deliveries to consumers. This results in overall cost saving by 3-5 percent.

Keywords: optimization, algorithm, scheduling, grain processing plant.

Tyutikov V.V., Krasilnikyants E.V., Alexeev A.A.  Self-tuning tools for electric drive control system of a machine-tool

The paper substantiates the need for developing a software tool for the self-tuning of metalcutter drive control system. Based on the analysis of the best foreign NC analogs, it formulates the requirements to the self-tuning tool. With a case study of a typical double-loop cutting-machine control system, it examines a versatile self-tuning algorithm, which requires the specification of the desirable speed (passband) and phase stability margin. A modified algorithm is offered, which provides several versions of controller settings for the maximum speed dependent on the desirable loop aggressiveness. The software tool’s interface is presented as well as the results of its operation in the form of Bode diagrams of the tuned looped from a real-life machine-tool and an example of two-axes circular motion control.

Keywords: electric drive control system, cutting-machineб self-tuning, Bode diagram, sequential coordinates adjustment.

Kuznetsova, S.V., Simakov A.L.  Selecting rational parameters for adaptation tools during automated assembly

The structure and functional elements of component part passive adaptation tools during assembly are determined. The focus is maid on the analysis of the master element that determines the dynamics of the part motion during the adaptation process. The guide surface acts as a master element for passive adaptation. The purpose of this research is to search for rational parameters of the guide surface for passive adaptation tools which provide high treating speed and dynamic performance without jamming. To achieve the purpose, the authors analyze the dynamics of the adaptation process of a part in a device with various guide surface profiles. The dynamic model of the passive part adaptation tool is developed. The differential equation is derived that describes the part’s motion along the guide surface during adaptation. The computer model of the process has been developed. The influence of the profile of the guide surface on the motion performance is investigated. It has been found that the best form of the profiling line of the guide surface is a straight line. The engineering solutions to implement the guide surface are developed, such as: the chamfers of the parts to be joined, the end planes of the parts to be joined; the structural component of the adaptation device.

Keywords: automated assembly, adaptation coordinate, guide surface, means of passive adaptation, dynamic quality parameter, elastic element, equation of part motion.
