Aristova N.I., Chadeev V.M.  Automation in automotive industry

Automobile construction is a high tech industry pioneering science-intensive technologies. The application of conventional automation facilities, such as robots, sensors, measuring systems, machine vision, industrial identification and security devices, controllers, and communication tools is overviewed. The paper discusses specialized solutions addressing the needs of automotive industry. It examines innovative car types (electric, connected, and unmanned vehicles) along with their underlying automation tools and algorithms.

Keywords: automotive industry, automation tools, electric vehicles, connected and unmanned vehicles, Industry 4.0.

Aristova N.I., Chadeev V.M., Nikulina I.V.  On present-day driver assistance systems

Present-day vehicles are furnished with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) of different automation level from advice-giving systems to independent control (currently, in testing phase). The paper outlines key areas of research in Russia in the field of ADAS development and improvement including collision avoidance, path tracking control, driver assistance in bad weather conditions, as well as driver health monitoring and automatic vehicle control.

Keywords: driver assistance system, vehicle, collision avoidance, specified motion path, bad weather conditions, driver health monitoring.

Chekavinskaya Ya.S., Shaverin A.V.  Quality management 4.0. Automation of an identification and traceability system for automobile plants

Automation of component part traceability and identification systems is a key stage in the development of a fully digital automobile plant. Omron solutions presented in the paper illustrate development phases of a quality management system based on automatized identification and traceability.

Keywords: automotive industry, traceability, digital manufacturing, quality management system.

Khasanov R.I., Saraykin A.I., Khasanova R.I.  Improving drivers' external informativeness in open seat vehicles

Setup and architecture of driver's individual protection equipment with backup warning lights and retroreflective elements are outlined. A prototype aerodynamic hump with built-in back lamp set duplicating warning lights of a vehicle with an open seat is developed. This functional accessory for motorcycle outfit improves cyclist's external infrmativeness.

Keywords: external informativeness of drivers, vehicles with open seat, driver's individual protection equipment, aerodynamic hump with built-in back lamp set.

Starykh A.A.  Industrial robotics in domestic automotive industry

In Focus:

Implementing communication infrastructure of industrial enterprises

Bruckner D., Bina S., Vasina A.S.  OPC UA TSN as a communication technology for all automation levels

State of the art of industrial communication protocols is reviewed. The paper shows that OPC UA TSN enables communication at all process control levels. It outlines the set of IEEE 802 standards for time sensitive networks (TSN) and presents test results of the approach proposed. The development outlook of industrial network technologies is also discussed.

Keywords: communication protocol, standard, process control, time sensitive networks, minimum cycle time, multiservice network.

Kokoulin A.N.  Hierarchical intrusion detection system for wireless ad-hoc sensor networks

Over the recent years, wireless ad-hoc sensor networks are getting increasingly popular in the design and development of control and monitoring systems in both civil and military applications. However, information security of sensor networks deployed in an open and unprotected environment is a serious challenge. In most cases, using only cryptographic protection algorithms is not enough to protect a sensor network from external attacks; therefore, it is advisable to use the Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDS / IPS). The development of such systems in heterogeneous wireless ad-hoc networks combining many types of sensors and data processing nodes is topical.

Keywords: wireless ad-hoc sensor networks, information security, intrusion detection and prevention system, sensor.

Kozak N.V., Al-Wadi O.  Application of OPC UA protocol for improving communication capabilities of NC systems

The paper examines possible application of OPC UA protocol for machinery data representation at modern industrial sites. It offers generalized structures for OPC UA client and server applications organization. The architecture of an OPC UA server placed in the kernel of a domestic NC system is offered.

Keywords: NC systems, controllers, communication technologies, client, server.

Belenev S.A., Voloshin E.V., Kuznetsov R.S., Chipulis V.P.  Data acquisition technologies and systems for water, heat and power supply scheduling, accounting and control

The paper discusses technologies and methods of data acquisition from metering devices. It analyzes the structure of information systems enabling remote meter readings acquisition and storage. A multi-agent data acquisition technology is offered. Application cases of information systems in water, heat and power supply are included.

Keywords: data acquisition system, water meter, heat meter, electricity meter, communication tools, communication protocols.

Zakharov N.A., Klepikov V.I., Podkhvatilin D.S.  A hard-/software complex for DCS testing

The paper examines the features of DCS testing where control loops may comprise both conventional analog signals and serial information exchange channels. It describes the structure of Dozor hard-/software toolkit aimed at both off-line test of specific components and the full-scale test of the whole DCS.

Keywords: distributed control system, serial exchange channel, exchange protocol converter.

Peshkov A.S., Koryakin D.S.  Improving energy management efficiency

The paper proposes how to improve the efficiency of energy management at heat generating plants according to available ambient temperature change pattern and statistics. The approach proposed allows to employ the control structure related with financial planning.

Keywords: power industry, energy resources, control, automation, efficiency improvement, forecast, heat generating plants.

Abu Ghazal A.A., Surin V.I., Shef E.A., Bokuchava G.D., Papushkin I.V.  Development of electrophysical diagnostics device and its application in physical-mechanical materials testing

Application results of Spectroelph-FRR desktop device for spectral signal analysis in functional electrophysical diagnostics are presented. The device is designed to work with discontinuous testing machines with horizontal sample fixing. The scanning transducer slides translationally in the horizontal direction along the surface of the sample. An informative electrical signal is formed on the contact spots of the transducer with the object of control under load, while the mechanical contact surface forms the transducer's sensitive element. The number of contact spots of the transducer is determined by the intensity of the contact interaction in the contact zone and the processes occurring in this zone; it also depends significantly on the variation of undulation and roughness characteristics. In the Neutron Physics Laboratory in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia), the method of thermal neutron diffraction was also used for the investigation of internal stresses arising in the sample made of 12Х18Н10Т steel.

Keywords: electrophysical diagnostics, physical-mechanical materials testing, thermal neutron diffraction method, scanning contact potentiometry method.
