Kroshkin A.N., Lishchuk A.N.  Novel non-separation measuring technology for well production

The requirements to reliability, accuracy and efficiency of on-site oil well production measurements have been tightening steadily over the recent years. The paper offers an engineering solution enabling non-separation measuring of oil well production based on multiphase flowmeter, industrial measuring tools and state-of-the-art software. The commercial plant based on this measuring technology is being now commissioned to the field experience of several oil companies.

Keywords: non-separation measurement, oil wells, multiphase flowmeter, Coriolis flowmeter, measuring tools, artificial neuron networks.

Kigel A.A., Chernokozinsky D.A.  Hydrocarbon content monitoring in circulating water systems

The features of hydrocarbon containment monitoring of circulating water are examined. The paper notes that not every water quality analysis technique from the available variety fits the required application. It overviews the most popular measuring techniques: ultraviolet, NIR absorption, and plasma-ionization.

Keywords: circulating water, oil-field water, fluorescence, absorption, NIR absorption, plasma-ionization technique.

Harrie P.  Gas detection for pipelines: will the IR technology become the most preferable technique?

Present-day technologies of pipeline gas leakage detection are briefly overviewed. Key advantages of IR leak detection technology are listed as well as the factors limiting its wider dissemination. The paper shows that the choice of the detection technology should allow for its total ownership cost.

Keywords: gas leak detection, pipeline, IR technology, ownership cost.

Patisov R.O.  ABB's frequency converters in oil and gas industry

Featured properties of standard and industrial frequency converters from ABB are presented. Oil and gas application examples are cited.

Keywords: frequency converters, power saving, direct torque control.
