Будущее — это не то, куда мы идем, а то, что мы создаем. Дороги следует не искать, а строить. Сам процесс строительства меняет как самого творца, так и его судьбу.

Nikolayan L.R.  MasterSCADA 4D as an Industry 4.0 technology

The paper shows that MasterSCADA 4.0 meets basic Industry 4.0 principles: functional compatibility, transparency, virtualization, and decentralization. Additionally, this software suite supports novel technologies such as advanced HMI, authentication tools, Internet of Things and cloud services, mobile and portable devices.

Keywords: Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, cloud services, digital technologies.

Semenikhin S.V., Denisova L.A.  Information retreival systems for Big Data: genetic algorithm based machine learning of ranking

The paper discusses machine learning (ML) of Big Data ranking within the Industry 4.0 concept. It offers an approach to ML of ranking in information retrieval systems based on multicriteria optimization and genetic algorithms. The approach underlies the developed software tool. An alternative approach to ML is also considered. It is based on the genetic algorithm of cooperative coevolution enabling ML time saving owing to parallel computing. The methods proposed ensure effective automation of analytical decision making about alternatives ranking in descending order of relevance. The results of comparative analysis of the methods proposed on test patterns.

Keywords: machine learning, ranking, optimization, information retrieval, cooperative coevolution, genetic algorithm.

Sokolov L.I., Solovyov S.Yu.  The role of MindSphere open IIoT platform in digital transformation of industrial plants

The architecture and tools of MindSphere open IIoT platform from Siemens are discussed. The platform’s capabilities for the digital transformation of industrial plants are shown.

Keywords: IIoT, operating system, analytics tools digital transformation, cloud platform.

In Focus:

Cybersecurity challenges

Livshitz I.I., Neclyudov A.V.  Cybersecurity: a new notion or the well-known present

An attempt is made to search for the origins of cybersecurity notion in the documents of foreign centers of hi-tech competence. A document named Preliminary Cybersecurity Framework dated February 28, 2013 was found on the NIST resource. It was developed in pursuance of the Executive Order 1363. This confirms the five-year history of cybersecurity in USA and, therefore, confirms that cybersecurity can be hardly considered as a terra incognita for all rational beings worldwide.

Keywords: standards, cybersecurity, assessment, general criteria, information technologies.

Bobov M.N., Goryachko D.G., Obukhovich A.A.  Developing information security management system for critical power industry plants

AGAT-Control Systems JSC has developed a national information security management system for critical plants in Belarus Republic. The paper discusses key issues of the concept by the example of power industry.

Keywords: information security management system, critical information security plants, process control systems.

Cheremushkin P.N., Temnikov S.E.  Investigating OPC UA security

The paper discusses the search of vulnerabilities in OPC UA versions. It pays the attention of industrial automation and IIoT software vendors to typical problems in software design related with such public technologies. Engineering techniques that may help software vendors to control the quality of their products and researchers to investigate software security.

Keywords: OPC UA, process control systems, cybersecurity, vulnerabilities, fuzzing.

Guseinov R.M.  Industry 4.0, IoT, clouds, and information security outlook

The evolution of present-day digital technologies and the associated general risks are reviewed. An attempt is made to summarize various trends in IT field and forecast information security problems for the next several years.

Keywords: IIoT, Industry 4.0, service providers, cloud technologies, digitalization, information security.

Gorobchenko S.L.  What training is needed for industrial automation specialists? Reflections on the issue

Criteria of effective industrial automation training are revealed, the challenges faced by companies and specialists improving their professional skills are discussed. The ways to overcome the challenges are adding more practical activities to the courses, wider opportunities for trainees to extend their knowledge, introducing practical tasks important for professional activities. The paper shows the non-applicability of electronic courses in making up professionals and offers the ways to improve practice orientation of training courses.

Keywords: industrial automation, training, courses, training problems, distant learning, practice orientated training, andragogical approach, learning skills.

Kamenskikh A.A.  Industrial benches: a new level of specialist training

Infrastruktura TK JSC is an independent vendor of training benches for instrumentation and control engineers. The paper lists key components of training benches and their development technologies combining real-life equipment with virtual reality.

Mkrtchyan V.I.  Error damping factor tuning in platformless inertial navigation system

The paper examines the automatic search of optimal feedback gain for error damping in a platformless inertial navigation system (PINS). Feedback signals a proportional to the mismatch between PINS ground speed projections and the measurements of a satellite navigation system. The optimality criterion is the minimum mean-squared error of the damped velocity modulus. The search technique proposed was tested on a simulation model of a medium accuracy PINS.
