Planning and scheduling tasks in the manufacture of IC with micron and submicron topology standards are discussed. Optimization tasks for planning and scheduling are formulated on the basis of a developed mathematical model. Their solution algorithms are offered, which underlie the software modules developed. Case study results are included.

Keywords: planning and scheduling, integrated circuit manufacture, optimization model, canonical front-end algorithm, front-end algorithm with ranking, software tools for planning and scheduling.

Material and energy balance generation systems

Petukhov M.Yu., Zakiev A.R., Borodin P.E., Artemiev S.B.  Automation of material balance agreement process at an oil refinery

Key approaches to oil refinery's material balance generation using Honeywell Production Balance software are discussed. System's basic operation principles are examined, and the recommendations on its optimal usage are made.

Keywords: automation in industry, MES, oil refining, material balance.

Kuvykin V.I.  Organization of computerized planning and material balance generation systems

Design concepts of computerized planning and accounting systems for continuous production plants are discussed. The results of optimization models application in oil refining industry are presented.

Keywords: production automation, ERP, APS, MES, operations research, optimization, oil refining.

Reznikov M.B.  Energy balance generation

The paper discusses energy balance generation at an industrial site, the search of measurement and process modeling blunders as well as fuel leaks. It substantiates the need in using energy balance data for the design of a new measuring system or the modernization of a legacy one.

Keywords: measuring instruments, energy balance, redundancy, measured/unmeasured flows, losses, blunders.

State-of-the-art information technologies for operations management

Kats B.A., Molchanov A.Yu.  Production assets management using state-of-the-art information technologies. Problems and solutions

Solving the problems related with production asset management is an important activity at any enterprise. The optimization of equipment operation and maintenance is a part of asset management; its improvement results in higher plant profitability and is a key to its sustainable development. The paper discusses the functionality of information systems with reference to basic asset management processes.

Keywords: asset management, maintenance, service policy, reliability management, information systems, EAM systems.

Petlina M.P., Yanin A.M., Tereschenko A.G.  Organization and control of equipment maintenance in laboratories with the help of LIMS

In the context of permanent modernization of Chemist-analyst LIMS a new equipment interaction module is developed. Along with equipment performance data input it enables the generation of an individual set of service journals for each equipment piece with different user accounts. The module can work within LIMS or separately at MES level.
