An approach to real-time equipment condition monitoring implemented by OSIsoft on the basis of PI System is presented. Asset-centric infrastructure for an industrial enterprise means that appropriate templates describing the requirements to each equipment type or class are filled for all operated equipment; predictive algorithms, event processors and report generators are applied. The capabilities of this approach are illustrated with form views developed for foreign enterprises.

Bishop N.  Enterprise reliability through key process assets monitoring

One fourth of unplanned outages of oil refining facilities is caused by equipment failures. This makes condition monitoring of key process assets critically important for improving the overall plant reliability. However, many operations engineers argue about the expediency of such investments due to the difficulties associated with cabling. For the same reason, the profitability vibration monitoring with real-time cabled systems looks questionable. The available wireless technologies enable the automatic monitoring of a huge number pumps, exchangers, heaters, compressors and other critical equipment, which breakage may result in process failure or its complete shutdown.

The paper describes the tasks executed by television diagnosis systems for water supply and drainage pipeline monitoring. The techniques are aimed at the investigation of the actual condition of pipeline systems and can be used for emergency alerting and prevention.

The paper describes such technique with reference to the state evaluation of a mine's treating complex developed within the cooperative project of the Russian Academy's Institute of Comprehensive Exploitation of Mineral Resources and SpecTec Scientific and Production Company. Syrkov A.V., Krutikov O.V.  Lifecycle optimization for Vladivostok - Russky Isle bridge by means of risk analysis and monitoring

The configuration of monitoring tools for the unique bridge to the Russky Island across the Eastern Bosporus Strait was substantiated by means of risk analysis techniques combined with the calculation of recovery work cost over the designed 80-year lifecycle. The 80-year duration is based on the estimates of cable system durability. The choice of the optimal risk control strategy enabled the technical and economical justification of the monitoring equipment configuration, bridge's lifecycle parameters optimization, as well as the anticipated significant recovery work cost saving.

The paper presents the features and functionalities of an Information-diagnostic system of a well drill. The system was developed by United Energy Company Public JSC. It is equipped with a remote monitoring and data acquisition module.
