Polyansky D.A., Monakhov M.Yu.  A methodology for evaluating the significance of error occurrence conditions during information processing in automated control systems

The problems of automated control systems efficiency improvement in the area of providing the desirable data processing validity are discussed. The focus is made on the integration of the information resources protection system with the ERP systems and the dependency of the validity of the data processed on qualitative descriptions and ERP characteristics. A procedure for switching from qualitative descriptions to quantitative values is offered, and its application for error occurrence conditions estimation during information processing in ERP systems is examined.

A technique for calculating optimal values of reliability indices for automation systems with respect to the criterion of minimal total development and operation costs is discussed. The costs related with reliability improvement programs are estimated; the losses caused by the faults of various automation system`s components are evaluated. The effect of reliability indices on the profitability of process equipment operation at a gas processing plant in Vietnam is in vestigated.

Zinoviev D.V.  Digital gas flow meter

The paper analyzes the factors hampering the propagation of microelectronic sensors in heat-loss anemometric gas mass flowmetering. It describes the features of the ballistic (free molecular) heat conduction mode which was so far admitted to exist in diluted gases only. A mathematical gas flowmeter model is developed based on finite elements technique. A digital gas flowmeter implemented subject to the features of heat and mass transfer in microsystems is presented.
