Introduction: From scientific viewpoint to machine vision

Nekrasov V.V., Nikitenko V.A.  New horizons of machine vision in nanoworld

Machine vision systems equipped with special sensing devices are able to see and recognize the objects invisible to human eye. A promising development field for such systems is the extension of their spectral sensing range and the penetration into the nanoworld. The paper discusses the possibility of using spectral selective optical properties of the objects under control in machine vision systems with a case study of investigating water trace contaminants behavior.
