Measuring systems and digitalization

Kalashnikov A.A.  Metrological self-testing of A-plant measuring channels based on mismatch algorithms

The paper discusses the organization of metrological self-testing (MST) of A-plant measuring channels with focus on the two most promising ways. The first one is based on historical data analysis at certain times, while the second one presumes the on-line implementation. Each has its featured properties and application area in the optimization of metrological service and the modernization of plant floor measuring systems. The development of both areas contributes to the establishment of scientific and technical background of metrology in nuclear power engineering and other industries.

Keywords: A-plant, process control, metrological self-testing, measuring channels mismatch algorithm.

Wadman E., Sobel J., Eidenvall A.  Improving aluminum plate thickness measurement

The paper examines the principle of rolled aluminum thickness measurement underlying ABB Millmate (MTG) measuring systems. The new High-pass Mode function enables the control of thin aluminum plate thickness in the 0.1…0.6 mm range against the wider admissible range of 0.5…8 mm.

Keywords: rolled aluminum, sensor, measuring system, pulsed eddy current.

Voloshin E.V., Vinogradov A.N., Kuznetsov R.S.  Energy monitoring and accounting systems based on next-generation wireless technologies

The paper describes present-day data acquisition techniques used in heat and power supply systems for energy monitoring and accounting. It examines the air temperature monitoring system for freezing chambers of a low-temperature warehouse of a port refrigerator complex based on Lora WAN wireless data communication technology. Wireless technologies and devices of energy monitoring and accounting systems were tested in real-life operating conditions. Conclusions are drawn about possible application of Lora technology for “smart” accounting.

Tyurin O.G., Makarenko V.G., Kornelyuk O.A., Savostianov F.A.  Development of article length measuring tools for high-energy material pressing

The paper overviews the existing measuring techniques for article length and output speed in high-energy material pressing, such as final position-based, measuring wheel, and non-contact optical method, and discusses their merits and drawbacks. Non-contact methods look the most promising ones in the digitalization perspective.

Keywords: length measurement, velocity measurement, laser rangefinder, machine vision, non-contact measuring techniques.

Manufacturing automated systems

Petukhov P.N., Yulenets Yu.P., Markov A.V.  Automated product quality control system for high-frequency plastic welding

The paper presents an automated control system for high-frequency plastic welding, which ensures the optimal welding quality. The optimal welding mode meeting two quality requirements is selected for asymmetric jig structure with a thermal-resistant dielectric glut placed between one of the welded parts and the electrode of the working capacitor.

Keywords: high-frequency plastic welding, welding quality, optimal mode, automated control system.

Topchieva O.Yu.  Magnetoimpulse removal of frozen and stuck material from freight cars

The paper presents the structure and operation algorithm of an automated control system for magnetoimpulse removing frozen and stuck material from freight cars. The system enables the destruction of frozen material without damaging the car. The results of system testing at the proving ground of Krasnoyarsk Institute of Rail Transport are included.

Keywords: car cleaning, magnetoimpulse technique, automation, ice destruction.

Zharov M.V.  Improving the automated control system for thermoelastic presses. Response time decrease

The paper discusses the methods ensuring precise temperature and deformation rate characteristics when using the automated control system for thermoelastic presses. The system’s slow response is identified as a key challenge to wider industrial application of such systems. This can be surmounted by using extrapolation mechanisms for predicting thermal and response parameters of thermoelastic presses.

Keywords: thermoelastic presses, thermocompression units, superplasticity of material, isothermal pressing, metal utilization ratio, mold flaw, folding process, control signal, coefficient of thermal expansion.

Romanyuk E.V.  Automated control system for industrial aspiration with precipitators

The paper offers a procedure for state estimation of industrial pant aspiration based on measuring and analyzing the total pressure differential across precipitator’s baffle. Analytic data processing expressions and algorithms for double- and triple-layer baffles are developed, which allow to assess the precipitator’s mode for its specified operation phases. Baffle regeneration is considered as a mechanism for the system’s regulatory control. The expediency of grainy filters application for the automated control of aspiration process is substantiated.

Keywords: automation, aspiration, diagnostics, pressure, combustible dust, explosion and fire hazard.

Algorithmic and software for automation systems

Muraviova E.A., Enikeeva E.R.  Regulatory control of concrete mix humidity with artificial neural networks

An approach to the regulatory control of concrete mix humidity using artificial neural networks (ANN) is offered. The paper shows that an ANN based on Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm is a based fit for such tasks.

Keywords: concrete mix, artificial neural network, modeling, neuron, humidity.

Denisov M.S., Kotov G.A., Petukhova S.M.  Computer simulation of casting processes with crystallization under pressure

The paper presents the results and functionality of computer simulation used for substantiating operation modes of crystallizable metal forming. Simulation results obtained in ProCast software suite are compared with the experimental ones obtained on a hydraulic press for a half-blank casting of internal-combustion engine’s piston of 90 mm diameter and 70 mm height. The approach developed makes it possible to select the optimal treatment modes thus reducing the staging and equipment tuning time, it also enables the prediction of pouring defects.

Keywords: 3D modeling, crystallization under pressure, aluminum alloy, press mold, macro and micro porosity.

Marchenko S.G.  Modeling and optimization of gas transmission system control in non-stationary consumption modes

The paper discusses the modeling and control of the gas transmission system (GTS) in unsteady conditions. The problem of A formalized description of GTS components operation is developed, that provides a framework for control optimization under unsteady gas consumption. A system of criteria for optimizing GTS operation is established; the problems of network flows maximization are solved. Methods for calculating flow schemes for GTS dynamic control mode are developed.
